Free idle mining game

Lored is an idle game created by indie developer Drillur. It is a free-to-play simulator that requires you to manage a mine to collect resources. Here, you will set up your miners and put them to work. Additionally, you will also upgrade your units as you earn more money.

Like many indie games, Lored comes with meager system requirements. You can also play it on almost any Windows computer. Unfortunately, the gameplay is repetitive and can quickly become boring. If you are looking for management game alternatives with a more exciting concept, you can try Hive Time

What is Lored?

Lored is a straightforward game with limited depth and only comes with a few mechanics. As mentioned, this is a mining game. However, unlike similar games, you won't be mining yourself. Instead, you will set up miners that will collect resources for you. You can then use these resources to upgrade your units. Unfortunately, this cycle will repeat indefinitely with higher costs each time you upgrade a miner.

Since the game only offers minimal content, players can also expect a simple interface. Each unit you deploy will have three buttons below them. One halts the miner while the other one upgrades them. Finally, the third button will allow you to stop the use of resources for an upgrade. These buttons are accompanied by a tiny pixel sprite of the miner that is animated as it completes the task.

As noted, Lored is a highly repetitive game. There is not much to do here aside from repeatedly organizing your miners. The only thing that prevents the game from going stale quickly is the multiple tasks assigned to you. However, it has no lore or history, providing no purpose to the endless task that you will complete. Additionally, although simple, it will take players a while to understand the premise.

Should you download it?

Lored is a game that you can download if you are looking for a game to play to pass the time. It has a simple gameplay and requires little of your resources. That said, it is very tedious and repetitive and has very little to offer to the player. While there are tasks to complete, it does not provide many challenges. Thus, the game stales quickly and becomes too boring

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.
